- I just re-read your message, and see that I may have mislead you.

- Evidently you don't have a Vi. In that case, you can't download the
- SDL upgrade-- your modem doesn't have the flash ROM feature. You'll
- have to contact USR about buying a ROM chip if you want to upgrade.

- It may not be worth shelling out the bucks for the upgrade unless you
- consistently connect at 28.8 using your current modem and phone lines.
- In other words, if your phone lines only let you connect at 26400 (or
- lower) now, your phone lines are the bottleneck. In this case, having
- a faster modem isn't going to do you any good.
